About My Photography<\/h1>\n

I take pictures because it\u2019s an obsession, a compulsion, an addiction, a need to create, to document, and to express. It satisfies my creative cravings. It magnifies the beauty in the simplest, most ordinary things and gets me wound up over them. It\u2019s the joy in knowing that I just created a fine photograph and then often not knowing exactly how I did it at all and hoping that I can do it again and again. The best part is that no one can or needs to validate this emotion because the photo feels right to me and does not need an explanation as to why it works.<\/p>\n

Picture My World<\/b><\/a> (formerly known as A Photo A Day<\/a><\/i>), began on December 26, 2009 and has evolved from just a fun Facebook<\/a> and Flickr<\/a> photo album into a precious photo journal told with words and photographs. Picture My World then paved the path to opening my Etsy Shop<\/a> in May of 2011. As a self-taught photographer with a knack for design, I was able to turn my photography into nostalgic art perfect for home decorating, gift giving, and e-greeting. Today I have the luxury of sharing the sentiments of my photographs and connect with fine art lovers all over the world and this brings me more joy than I ever imagined. It made me realize that I wanted to touch lives with my photography even in just a small way.<\/p>\n

Photography, blogging, and re-purposing my art together have become the perfect platform for creativity and expression. This photo blog is spontaneous and captures musings of my life from small to great. And each photograph with its accompanying ramble, no matter how seemingly simple, strange, or ordinary, is always tied to a moment in time, making the blog a pocket full of memories and nostalgia.<\/p>\n

I created this blog to turn my Facebook and Flickr albums into a real, official photo journal that piggybacks a portfolio. And with that, Picture My World<\/a> is on the regular for as long as I’m addicted to it.<\/p>\n
